West Indies Handed Injury Concern Ahead of India T20I Series The West Indies have been handed an injury concern just before the start of their five-match T20I series against India, with wicketkeeper-batter Jewel Andrew being monitored after suffering a finger injury. Andrew was hurt during the third ODI against India in New Chandigarh on October 3 while completing a catch to dismiss Naman Dhir. Although he successfully held onto the ball, he took a blow to his finger during the process.  The youngster was taken to hospital for an X-ray and further assessment. Fortunately for the West Indies, scans showed that there was no fracture. However, Andrew remains under observation by the team's medical staff and has not yet been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series.  In response to the uncertainty surrounding Andrew's availability, the West Indies have added Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad as cover. The wicketkeeper-batter now provides the team with an additional option should Andrew be unable to recover in time.  Jangoo arrives with plenty of confidence after an outstanding ODI series against India. He scored an unbeaten 58 in the opening match, followed that with 114 in the second ODI and then made 67 in the third. His 239 runs made him the third-highest run-scorer across both teams during the series.  The timing of the injury is particularly significant because Andrew was originally included in the West Indies T20I squad for the India tour. His availability gives captain Shai Hope another wicketkeeping and batting option, while Jangoo's recent form could make him a strong alternative if required.  The West Indies enter the T20I series after ending the ODI campaign on a high. They produced a remarkable chase in New Chandigarh, defeating India after successfully pursuing a target of 352, with Shai Hope producing a match-winning century.  The five-match T20I series is scheduled to begin on October 6, with India hosting the West Indies across five venues. The series will provide both sides with another opportunity to assess their squads ahead of future international commitments. For the West Indies, the immediate priority will be determining whether Andrew can recover sufficiently to take part. With no fracture detected, there is still hope that the young wicketkeeper will be available, but the medical team will continue to monitor his condition before a final decision is made.  Rótulo no Blogger: `Cricket`
